Dr Shairana Naleem MBBS, MFOM, MSc Medical Education, FHEA, FRCP Dr Shairana Naleem is Senior Medical Director at Health Partners Group, the UK’s leading Occupational Health provider, and Chair of the UK Society of Occupational Medicine (SOM) National Education Panel. She holds dual accreditation in Occupational Medicine and frontline Internal Medicine and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (London). She works at the forefront of clinical innovation and workforce health strategy, with a distinguished career spanning both the UK National Health Service (NHS) and private sector, including senior roles at King’s College Hospital, St Thomas’, London and across undergraduate and postgraduate medical education in London. Dr Naleem has made substantial national contributions through her work with the General Medical Council (GMC), Health Education England, the Royal College of Physicians, and SOM. In 2025, she was awarded the SOM Outstanding Contribution to Occupational Health Research Award and is widely recognised for her leadership in advancing innovation in training, assessment, and quality improvement. Her expertise centres on developing applied tools, generating new evidence, and translating research into scalable, real-world solutions. Her key interests include simulation-based learning, ill-health retirement, women’s health, and safety-critical working—areas in which she has published pioneering, evidence-based approaches to improve outcomes. Outside her professional role, she is a mother of three young children and enjoys tennis and travel.
