Ms Samantha Connell International Occupational Hygiene Association (IOHA)

Samantha Connell, MSPH, CIH, is a Past President of the International Occupational Hygiene Association (IOHA) (2023–2024) and an advocate for elevating the global visibility of occupational hygiene as a profession. Throughout her three-year elected executive term, Samantha focused on forging meaningful partnerships across allied health and safety disciplines, expanding IOHA's reach and influence on the world stage, and championing the development of early career professionals — most notably through the co-founding of the inaugural Emerging Leaders Institute (ELI). She remains actively engaged with IOHA as Co-Chair of the Communications & Marketing Committee and as a Founding Advisory Board Member of the ELI, with a continued focus on connecting members globally and strengthening the association's visibility and impact. She is a recipient of the IOHA Dedication Award (2025). Professionally, Samantha serves as Group Health Programs Director at Indorama Ventures, where she leads a small, globally distributed team governing industrial hygiene and occupational health programs across more than 30 countries — working to embed worker health into business strategy and ESG frameworks at the corporate level. Samantha holds a Master of Science in Public Health from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and is a Certified Industrial Hygienist with over 15 years of experience across chemical manufacturing, pharmaceutical, and research environments in Europe and the United States. She is based in Bangkok, Thailand.
