Dr Tsuyoshi Kawakami The Ohara Memorial Institute for Science of Labour

Dr. Tsuyoshi Kawakami is the Senior Research Adviser at the Ohara Memorial Institute for Science of Labour and a highly respected expert in occupational health and safety (OHS). With over 25 years of experience at the International Labour Organisation, he has contributed extensively to strengthening national OHS systems and participatory workplace safety programmes across Asia and globally. Dr. Kawakami has worked closely with governments, employers, and workers to expand occupational health services, particularly within informal economy sectors. He is a medical doctor with a PhD in Public Health and was the recipient of the Young Scientist Award at Asian Congress on Occupational Health 1997 in Kuala Lumpur.
