Dr Sylvia Teo KK Women's and Children's Hospital

Dr. Sylvia Teo is a Senior Consultant in Occupational Medicine with over 20 years of specialized experience. During her tenure as an Occupational Medicine Specialist at the Ministry of Manpower, she played a pivotal role in developing innovative workplace health solutions, including the iWork Health Psychosocial Assessment Tool and the Work Ability Tool. She also led the implementation of Return-to-Work programs across seven restructured hospitals and established and managed a Joint Environmental, Occupational and Toxicology Clinic for a decade. Since joining KK Women's and Children's Hospital (KKH) in 2023, Dr. Teo serves as Co-Chairman of the Health and Safety Executive Committee and Chairman of the Ergonomic Workgroup. She maintains her clinical expertise as a Visiting Consultant at the Joint Occupational Dermatology Clinic at the National Skin Centre, specializing in the investigation and management of occupational dermatitis. Dr. Teo is actively involved in medical education as a trainer for Occupational Medicine residents in the National Occupational Medicine Training Program and serves as a member of the Joint Committee of Specialist Training (JCST) Examination Committee. Her expertise extends to policy development through her external appointments with the Economic Development Board (EDB), where she contributes to developing national standards for occupational health and safety, including guidelines for protective equipment and nanotechnology applications.
